Scenario:
A tenant has independently covered the costs of repairs or maintenance, which you will deduct from that months rent. However, it remains important for the property owner to see a record of rental income for month.
Solution:
- Create a payment on the tenants account and cover the rent.
- Create a credit note for the same amount and add the description for the expense covered.
- Create a refund for the same amount on the tenants account.
- Open the credit note and apply it to the refund.
Now when you create the statement, it will show up with the rental income and also the cost covered by the tenant.
